About the event
Understanding Military Culture: Clinical Considerations for Working With Veterans and Military-Connected Families is a 3-hour continuing education training designed to help behavioral health professionals better understand the culture, values, experiences, and unique stressors that can shape the lives of veterans, service members, and military-connected families.
The course explores military structure, terminology, deployment and reintegration experiences, family dynamics, transitions, and common mental health considerations that may influence the therapeutic process.
Participants will gain practical insight into how military experiences can affect relationships, help-seeking behaviors, identity, trauma responses, and adjustment to civilian life. The training emphasizes culturally responsive and clinically informed approaches that can strengthen therapeutic rapport, improve understanding, and support more effective care for military-connected clients.
